Logging in to Shopify

You can log in to your Shopify account using your internet browser on a desktop device, or log in using the Shopify app on a tablet or a mobile device. The Shopify app works with iOS, iPadOS, and Android operating systems.

To make your Shopify account more secure, consider adding an additional layer of security and activating the two-step authentication.

Log in to your Shopify account

You can log in to your Shopify admin using your internet browser on a desktop, a tablet, or a mobile device. On tablet and mobile devices, you can also log in using the Shopify app.

If you've logged in to your store on the same device before, then your store might already be listed on the login page. You can log in by selecting your store, and you aren't prompted to enter your email address.

If you want to log in to your Shopify admin on your tablet or mobile device without using the Shopify app, then you can use your internet browser and log in to your Shopify admin the same way as you log in on a desktop device.

Steps:

  1. Go to the Shopify login page.
  2. Enter your email address that's associated to your Shopify account or use one of the login services to log in.
  3. Enter your password, and then click Log in.
  4. If you have two-step authentication activated on your Shopify account, then enter the authentication code using your authentication method, and then click Log in.
  5. If you have multiple Shopify stores associated to your Shopify account, then select the store that you want to access.
  1. Make sure that you have the Shopify app installed on your mobile device.
  2. Open your Shopify app, and then tap Log in.
  3. Tap Continue.
  4. Enter your email address that's associated to your Shopify account or use one of the login services to log in.
  5. Enter your password, and then tap Log in.
  6. If you have two-step authentication activated on your Shopify account, then enter the authentication code using your authentication method, and then tap Log in.
  7. If you have multiple Shopify stores associated to your Shopify account, then select the store that you want to access.
  1. Make sure that you have the Shopify app installed on your mobile device.
  2. Open your Shopify app, and then tap Log in.
  3. Enter your email address that's associated to your Shopify account or use one of the login services to log in.
  4. Enter your password, and then tap Log in.
  5. If you have two-step authentication activated on your Shopify account, then enter the authentication code using your authentication method, and then tap Log in.
  6. If you have multiple Shopify stores associated to your Shopify account, then select the store that you want to access.

Log in to multiple Shopify accounts

You can log in to multiple accounts using a tablet or mobile device on the Shopify app. You can't log in to multiple accounts on a desktop device, you can only switch between different accounts.

After you log in to an account, it becomes your active account and you can switch between your accounts

Steps:

  1. From the Shopify app, tap the Account drawer.
  2. Tap your account.
  3. Tap Manage account.
  4. Tap your email address.
  5. Tap Log in to another account > Continue.
  6. Tap Log in to a different account.
  7. Enter your email address that's associated to the Shopify account or use one of the login services to log in.
  8. Enter your password, and then tap Log in.
  9. Optional: When you have two-step authentication activated on your Shopify account, enter the authentication code using your authentication method, and then tap Log in.
  10. Optional: When you have multiple Shopify stores associated to your Shopify account, choose the store that you want to access.
  1. From the Shopify app, tap the Account drawer.
  2. Tap your account.
  3. Tap Switch accounts.
  4. Tap Add account.
  5. Tap Log in to a different account.
  6. Enter your email address that's associated to the Shopify account or use one of the login services to log in.
  7. Enter your password, and then tap Log in.
  8. Optional: When you have two-step authentication activated on your Shopify account, enter the authentication code using your authentication method, and then tap Log in.
  9. Optional: When you have multiple Shopify stores associated to your Shopify account, choose the store that you want to access.

Recover your Shopify login details

If you forget your Shopify account password, then you can reset your password.

If you forget the email address that's associated with your Shopify account, then contact Shopify Support.

If you need to update the email address that's associated with your Shopify account to log in, then contact Shopify Support.

Log out of a Shopify account

  1. From your Shopify admin, click your account name at the top right corner.
  2. Click Log out.
  1. From the Shopify app, tap the Account drawer.
  2. Tap your account.
  3. At the bottom of the page, tap Log out.
  4. Tap Log out.
